Ida Rega

Ida Rega, (nee Parrillo), of Manalapan, NJ, formerly of Jersey City, passed away, peacefully, on May 9, 2017, at the age of 97 years.  Ida was a homemaker and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was a longtime and faithful parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Jersey City.

Ida is the beloved wife of the late George Rega; devoted mother of Jo Ann Ping and her husband Thomas, Georgiann Trombetta and her husband Charles, George Rega, Jr. and his wife Joyce, and the late Marie Dee Rega; cherished grandmother of Joseph Trombetta, Patricia Grasso and her husband Michael, and Dana Ale and her husband Jonathan; loving great grandmother of Serafina Trombetta and Olivia Grasso; sister of the late Anthony Parillo, Gilda Mauriello and Emma Parrillo.  Ida is also survived by many nieces and nephews and her dear cousin, Carla Errico of Frascati, Italy.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Friday, May 12, 2017, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  Family and friends are requested to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10 AM.  Entombment will follow in Holy Cross Mausoleum, North Arlington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Ida's memory are requested to St. Joseph Grammar School, 509 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, 07306, or online at www.school.stjosephjc.com

Unfortunately I met Ida more recently. In the time I knew her I realize she was a lovely, lovely woman. I am happy to say that I knew her and feel for her family,its not easy to lose your mother even though it is a part of life. Rest in Peace, Ida.
