Mamie R. Williams

Mamie R. Williams, of Jersey City, passed away at Christ Hospital in Jersey City on June 2, 2017.  She was 75 years of age.  Born in Hampton, South Carolina, Mamie relocated to Jersey City in 1958.  Mamie was always known as a woman who had a small body with a big heart.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a fantastic cook. 

Mamie is predeceased by her husband, Robert Williams, son Robert Williams, Jr. and grandsons, Onrie Williams and Shymaine Williams.  She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Ann Tyre and Annette Rhett and her son, Angelo Williams.  Mamie is the loving Grandmother of sixteen grandchildren, and Great Grandmother of twenty nine great grandchildren.  She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives and friends.

The family will receive friends at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, on Friday, June 9, 2017, from, 4 to 8 PM.  The funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday from 9 AM to 11:30 AM at Ocean Avenue Baptist Church, 735 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City.  There will be a viewing at the church from 8 AM to 9 AM, prior to the service.

Entombment will follow in Holy Name Mausoleum, Jersey City, NJ.

Ms Mamie My Mother, Co-Worker, My Friend, how I miss you so much, your voice, your smile, your laughter, your kindness, your opinion. Just to talk to you I miss. Ms. Mamie no one can take your place for how you care for the residents at Hamilton Park. You were such a great, loving person, and I am really going to miss you for that. Ms. Mamie you are on a Journey now, looking down smiling at us. You don't have to suffer no more cause God took the Best. I just want to R.I.P and continue your Journey with the Lord. I Love You and will carry you in my Heart.

Mamie....I will miss you friend, neighbor, co-worker. A lot of years being friends from when the kids were small until now. R.I.P. I'll see you again one day. Then we can catch up. I just can't imagine aunt moot not being around. Although I did't see her too often, I always knew she was just over there in Jersey City. I will always remember how I was always mistaken for so many times in my younger life. May God comfort her children and grandchildren during this difficult time.
