Dorothy C. "Dotty" O'Neill

Dorothy C. "Dotty O'Neill (Nee' Attreed) passed away peacefully while surrounded by her loved ones on April 2, 2016.  She was 89.

Born August 30, 1926 in Moonachie, NJ, Dotty was a long time resident of Jersey City and a parishioner of St. Aedan's Church. Dotty devoted most of her life as a homemaker, devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thomas O'Neill, Sr.; her dear brothers, Raymond and Michael Attreed and loving sister Ellen Mancini. Dotty is survived by her seven children, Robert (Ginny), Edward (Louise), Elizabeth MacArthur (Robert), Kathleen Ward-Pasuco, Thomas (Tracy), John (Kay), Michael (Linda); Grandchildren, Robert, Christopher, Jennifer, Brian, Catherine, Lauren, Jacklyn, Raymond, Michael, Thomas, Bryce, Erica, Aedan and Michaela; eleven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Dotty was a devout Catholic, a lifelong bowler and a diehard Mets fan. Mom, you were a shining example of all that is good in the world. Through example, you taught us goodness, kindness, compassion and love. Mom had many lifelong friendships that were very dear to her. Our family has an overwhelming feeling of being blessed to have had a wonderful mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend. Mom, you will be sorely missed by all. 

Visitation for Dotty will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ  on Wednesday from 3pm to 8pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at the funeral home on Thursday, April 7, 2016 priot to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at St. Aedan's Church at 10:00am.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
