Jeanne Lahiff

Jeanne Lahiff passed away suddenly earlier this September, 2016.  She was 56.

Jeanne was born in Morristown, NJ and raised in Florham Park, NJ, graduating from Hanover HS in 1978.  She also graduated from Universite Francois Rabelais (D.E.U.G. ll 1981), Boston College (B.A. 1982) magna cum laude, and the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D. 1987).  

She was the translator for the U.S. Handball delegation, World University Games, Paris, France.  After law school, where she was a member of the Journal of International Law, Jeanne served as a clerk for New Jersey Supreme Court Associate Justice Gary Stein.  She then lived in New York City and worked in litigation starting at Paul Weiss.  Later she joined the Office of the Attorney General for the State of New York, eventually becoming Section Chief, Investor Protection Bureaus.  Afterward, Jeanne moved from Manhattan and practiced law mostly in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York until her death. 

Jeanne was the daughter of Grace Brady Lahiff and the late Thomas Martin Lahiff, Sr. Surviving family members include her son Bartholomew Lahiff, brother Thomas and Cindy Lahiff, sister Mary Beth and Phil Berman, sister Barbara and Todd Pohlig, brother Christopher and Kristin Lahiff, eleven nieces and nephews and twelve great nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Aedan's Catholic Church, 800 Bergen Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306.  Burial will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, 823 West Side Avenue, Jersey City, NJ 07306.  

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that contributions can be made to the charity of the donator's choice.
