George M. Anton, Jr.

George M. Anton, Jr. of Jersey City passed away at Hackensack University Hospital on Friday, October 28, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family. He was 31.

A lifelong Jersey City resident, George was a graduate of Assumption All Saints Grammar School and St. Anthony's High School and worked as a Sheet Metal Worker for the Local 137 Sheet Metal Workers Union.  George loved playing dominoes, enjoyed a cigar and was a Giants, Yankees and Nets Fan.  He was the life of every party and had a perpetual and infectious smile.  He loved being a husband and father and most of all to be surrounded by his large and loving family.  He will be missed by all.

George was predeceased by his grandparents, Gregory Anton, Sr., Catalina Anton and Alfonso Reyes and his uncle, Gregory Anton, Jr..  He is survived by his beloved wife, Mayra (nee Cintron) Anton; his beautiful daughter Mia Anton; his proud parents, George M. Anton, Sr. and Marta Anton; cherished sisters, Stephanie Anton and Evelyn Reyes; grandmothers Marta Reyes and Gloria Santiago; dear uncles and aunts, Robert, Grisel, Gladys, Irene, Cef, Albert, Johnny, Michael, Jessica, Carlos, Ercilia, Amanda, Wilfredo, Frances, Sonia, Edith, Marlon and Rony; nephews, Christopher and Michael; niece Adrianna, the Cintron family and many cousins and friends too numerous to mention but all so important to him.

Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ  07306 on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 3:00pm to 9:00pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 9:30am prior to the Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated at Assumption All Saints Church, 344 Pacific Avenue, Jersey City at 10:30 am.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.
