Mary Ratyniak

Mary Ratyniak (nee Wolfe), 84, went home to God on August 4th. A woman of strong faith, strong will and colorful style, she exercised her role as mother and grandmother by giving advice freely until her final days.

She lived in Jersey City before moving to North Arlington 10 years ago. Mary loved the holidays, rainy days, going for car rides, singing the old songs, and most of all, she loved her family. If even one of her 7 children was missing at a gathering, she was not satisfied and she let you know it.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Edward V. and her beloved son, Edward G. She is survived by her devoted children, Marianne Zaucha (Edward), Joan Bailey, Susan Komorowski (Bobby), Beth Radil (Robin), Kenneth (Kerry) and Denise Strich (John) and daughter-in-law Jayne.  She was the much loved Nanny to Eddie, Jayne, Monica, Diana, Thomas, James, Jillian, Robert, Alison, Mark, John, Alexandra, Eric, Emily, John and David and great grandmother of seven.

Mary also leaves to cherish her memory, her sister-in-law and friend, Ann Wolfe, her goddaughter, Pattie Allegretta and many nieces and nephews.  The family extends their gratitude to her long time caregiver, Blasina (Goldie) Perez.

Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City on Monday, August 7, 2017 from 3-8 PM. Family and friends may assemble at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 10 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  at St. Stephen's Church, 676 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ, at 11:30 AM.  Cremation will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Church.

Aunt Mary was so full of life. So vivacious I remember the first time I met her was on a Christmas Day way back in 1970. She was running about trying to make everyone happy. Filling their plates with goodies and being her bubbly self. I often wondered how she could get it all done with 7 children, She was a good mom, and I enjoyed her becoming my aunt through marriage. You will be dearly missed by all who loved you, you were a unique and amazing lady, Rest in piece till we all meet again. We Love You Aunt Mary, Bob,Phyllis, Bobby, Lisa, Michael and Lisa Wolfe
