During these years of his service, James also owned and operated Bergen Taxi Service in the 1960's and New Bergen Livery in the 1970's, eventually becoming the largest transporter of physically disabled students in the state of New Jersey.

After James retired from the Fire Department in 1987, he moved to Holmdel, NJ and Stuart, FL, but continued to be an active member of the Jersey City community by starting Winsale, his second bus company.  James retired from his business in 2000.

James enjoyed traveling, music of the 50's, dining out and he was a lifelong Yankees fan.  He had so many friends and he had everyone's back...always willing to help out a friend or relative...always there with undying support, wisdom and assistance.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Monday, July 11, 2016, from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 12, 2016, at St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City at 11 AM.  Entombment will follow in Holmdel Mausoleum, Holmdel, NJ.
