Alan Joseph Haley

Alan Joseph Haley of Bayonne, formerly of Jersey City, passed away at his residence on October 31, 2016.  He was 51.

Born and raised in Jersey City, Alan moved to Bayonne several years ago.  He was former mechanic for the City of Jersey City but he also worked as an all-around handy man.  Lovingly referred to as "Fester" by his family and friends, Alan loved to make others laugh and was known for having a heart of gold.  He could and would fix anything for anyone and never wanted anything in return.  He was simply a good kind and generous man and will be missed by all those who were privileged to know him.

Alan was predeceased by his father Robert Haley.  He is survived by his mother Charlotte Haley Mizzi; brother, Mark R. Haley and his wife Cheryl; sister, Audrey Mohalek and her husband Nandor; his beloved nephew and godson, Liam E. Mohalek; his cherished 97 year old grandmother, Lily Mizzi; aunt, Lorraine Manzi and her husband Joe; uncles, Matthew Haley, Joseph Mizzi and his wife Barbara and Edward Mizzi. He is also survived by many cousins and friends too numerous to mention.

Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ  on Sunday from 3-5 & 7-9pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at St. Joseph's Church, 511 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City on Monday, November 7, 2016 at 9:30am for the Mass of Christian Burial.  Cremation will be private.

Alan, There is a large void in the world today knowing that your kind heart will not be there to enjoy another day with your friends and family. I am a better man for having had the pleasure of knowing you and to have had you in my life for so many years. You were always there like a superhero when ever i needed you, it seemed like i would mention your name and you would be there to bail me out when something needed to be done with never a mention of a payback. I will miss you now and for every waking day in the rest of my life and i will never forget you or the so many things you had to offer the world. October 31st 2016 i lost a best friend but i rest in the knowledge that you are now helping other people and that your memories will always remain with me. Rest in peace my friend and until we meet again. Your friend Murhbo Jim Satiro

The world lost a big heart when you went to be with the Lord. I hope you found the peace you so very very deserve. Heaven gained an angel. We lost a great friend, sibling, co worker and everything else you were. I still smile at your willingness to help anyone with their problems and make it better. " Fester will fix it" and you always did. God bless your heart and let those you left behind find peace. In your honor I am going to hop a fence at an Amish farm and head but a goat. ??????????????????

Alan, everytime I think that I will not see that silly smirk again while I'm alive brings me to tears.I will always miss you my dear friend, the joy and help you gave to my family and myself will never be forgotten and the memories together will always be treasured. Now I know that you are now in a better place where theres no more pain and suffering but only joy and happiness with our Lord.

Fes I am still in shock and denial. My heart has a huge hole in it now. I try to remember all the good times and laughter we had just to hide the pain. I will always think of you when I go to Wildwood, camping and the funny hats. But the pain I feel is nothing what you went through. Rest in Peace my dear brother. Love and miss you always.
