Robert H. Egbert

Robert H. Egbert – Age 71 of Jersey City passed away peacefully surrounded by his devoted family on Sunday, January 7, 2018.

Born and raised in Jersey City, known around town as “Egbert”, he worked in the Jersey City Medical Center for 31 years.  He was an avid Yankees and NY Giants fan and is now spectating in the great stadium in the sky.  Singing the oldies with his brothers has always made him happy. 

He is survived by his wife of 49 years Elaine Egbert (Howe), devoted father of Karen Rubino and her husband Paul Rubino; Michelle Garrett and her husband Cal Garrett; Robert Egbert Jr., Margie McShane and Megan Melendez; cherished “Pop Pop” of Daniel, Alex, Patrick, Jayson, Mariah, Talia and Gabriel.  He is also survived by his sister Dorothy O’Donnell and his brothers Eddie, George and several nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Mary and Edward Egbert, his brother Richie Egbert and nephew Patrick Egbert.  He will be greatly missed but never forgotten. 

Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Friday, January 12th from 3:00pm – 8:00 pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday, January 13th at 9:00 am prior to the funeral service at 10:30am.  Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City, NJ.

The Closes' and the Manieri's are truly sorry for the loss of Bobby. Bobby was apart of the "big" family at 64 Newkirk St. Bobby was like a big brother who looked out for us. You funny and kind. Elaine and faily, you are all in our thoughts and prayers. RIP our friend!
