Marie J. Rega

Marie J. Rega, 63, passed away surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, November 14, 2016.  Marie was a lifelong resident of Jersey City and a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and Jersey City State College.  She was Vice President of Human Resources for J.P. Morgan Chase in New York, retiring after twenty six years of service. 

Marie was a very giving person and an active volunteer, devoting her time to many organizations.  She was Treasurer of the Altar Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church as well as an active volunteer for The Make a Wish Foundation of NJ and The Food Bank of Hillside. 

Marie is the devoted daughter of Ida Parrillo and the late George Rega; cherished sister of Jo Ann Ping and her husband Thomas A., Georgiann Trombetta and her husband Charles and George Rega, Jr., and his wife Joyce; loving aunt of Joseph Trombetta, Patricia Grasso and her husband Michael and Dana Ale and her husband Jonathan; dearest great aunt of Serafina Trombetta and Olivia Grasso; Godmother to Joseph Trombetta, Joanna Malfitano, Christian Farber and Marc Nevins.  Marie is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins and dear friends and neighbors throughout her parish and Jersey City communities.  She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Friday, November 18, 2016, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 9 PM.  Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home on Saturday morning at 9:30 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church at 10:30 AM.

Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.   Donations in Marie's memory may be made to the St. Judes Childrens Research Hospital, 501 St. JUde Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or

Here are some special memories shared by family and friends.
I am so sorry to hear of Marie's passing. I will always be thankful to the family and the close bond they held with my parents. Marie was a wonderful woman with an amazing personality and never once complained about anyone or anything. I will always be thankful to her for helping my mom after my father passed away and spending time with her. Marie was a very loving and grateful woman.
