John "Jack" Daly

John Daly, "Jack", passed away, peacefully, on June 23, 2017.  Born in Inchintotane, Newmarket, County Cork, Ireland, Jack came to the United States in 1965, settling in Jersey City.  He was a painter for General Motors in Linden, NJ for thirty years before retiring and a communicant of St. Aloysius Church.

Jack is predeceased by his wife Bella Daly and his son, Jimmy Taylor.  He is survived by his children, Patrick Taylor, Andrew Taylor (Lily), Elizabeth Daly and Sean Daly (Renee); grandchildren, Brittany, Angelica, Jack, Seana, Alexia, Tara, Bella, Aidan, Owen, Chloe and Keiran and siblings, Dan, Eily and Mick as well as many nieces, nephews and Godchildren.  Jack is predeceased by siblings, Peggy, Kit, Phil and Mary.

Visitation will be held at McLaughlin Funeral Home on Monday, June 26, 2017, from 4 to 8 PM.  Family and friends may assemble at the funeral home on Tuesday morning at 9 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Aloysius Church at 10 AM.  Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Alzheimer's Association or to a charity of your choice.

I will always remember his distinctive whistle as he came downstairs to have a cup of tea. He was a gentle human being and he never lost his cool. He was one of the last gentleman of his generation. He is now with Bella and Jimmy and hopefully having a drink with my dad. Rest In Peace Jack. You will be missed
