Margaret Moran Samulka

Margaret Moran Samulka of Manahawkin, formerly of Jersey City passed away on August 7, 2016 while surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Jersey City, Margaret was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School.  She was a Probation Officer with Hudson County Division of Youth and Family Service until retiring several years ago.   She loved the Jersey City Irish Festival and the Jersey City Saint Patrick Day Parade.  She was full of spirit and will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.

Margaret was predeceased by her parents, Francis and Mary Moran, her sister, Maryanne Gil and brother, Francis Moran and her niece Katie Laico.  She is survived by her sisters, Ellen Moran and Noreen Laico; brother, Thomas Moran; brothers-in-law Joe Laico and Alfie Gil and nieces Kristen Lauren and Brittany.  She is also survived by her beloved dog, Roo.

Visitation will be at McLaughlin Funeral Home, 625 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City on Tuesday from 3-8pm.  Relatives and friends are invited to assemble at the funeral home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 9:30am prior to the funeral mass which will be celebrated at 11am at Saint Aloysius Church, 691 West Side Avenue, Jersey City.  Interment follows at Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to Susan G. Komen Foundation P. O. Box 650309 Dallas, TX 75265-0309

Margaret ...although our relationship began simply as neighbors , it quickly developed into an awesome friendship. We looked forward to seeing your smiling face everyday. Regardless of all you were going through, you always had kind words and an uplifting spirit to share with those around you. You were, are, and always will be a very special person to us.
