Marion Cassaro

Marion Cassaro, 68, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017, surrounded by her family.  Marion was a well-loved member of St. Joseph's Church in Jersey City and a faithful and avid member of the Rosary Altar Society.  She spent a majority of her time volunteering at Bingo for the church and bowled for many years with the Wednesday Night Ladies Bowling LEague.

Marion enjoyed trips to Las Vegas with her sister and spent all of her free time with her beloved grandchildren who were her pride and joy.  She was known for her kindness, her willingness to help others whenever she could, and most of all, for her devotion to her cherished family.

Marion was predeceased by her mother, Mary Davis and brother, Patrick Cassaro of Jersey City.  She is survived by her son, Timothy Gosnell; her daughter and son-in-law, Stacey and Manny Ovalles; grandchildren, Kylie, Ethan and Sonny Ovalles; sisters, Louise Schroeder and Elizabeth Cassaro; nieces, Gina Lombardo, Karen Henke, Donna Campo, Denise McCafferty, Deb Ashmore; nephews, Bud and Bill Ashmore, as well as friends, too numerous to mention, but all very dear to her.

There will be a private viewing for family at McLaughlin Funeral Home, followed by cremation.  Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St. Joseph's Church, 511 Pavonia Avenue, Jersey City, NJ, on Saturday, February 11, 2017, at 10:45 AM.

Marion you will definitely be missed by many. You made a huge impact on my life. I've only known you for a year but feels like a lifetime. You were like a second mother to me and now both of yall have passed away. So now I have both of yall watching me from above. I hope I make you proud at bingo knowing that you hand picked me to take over your spot. And thank you for always lending your ear when I needed to talk. I will miss your laugh and your smile. And your egg salad sandwiches. You were the best Godmother a girl could have - I truly think you were magical. You certainly made many of my wishes come true - from my pierced ears to my first plane ride. Thank you for all of your love and all the memories I'll cherish forever. Tim and Stacey, Mom and Aunt Louise - I love you and am so very sorry for your loss.

Stacey and Matt...I worked with your mom for 23 years, and we retired a day or two apart. I will always remember her sense of humor, her kindness and her love for her family, esp. her grandchildren. May you gather strength from all of the great memories and times you had together. My deepest sympathy.

Timmy & Stacey I am so very sorry for your loss. This took me by surprise. I was talking to your mom at bingo a few months ago. Your mom has always been such a happy go lucky cheerful person. She has always been very proud of her children. Now like myself you will have a special angel protecting over you and her grandchildren. God bless.

My Condolences to Marion's family. I was apart of Marion's BINGO Family. She was no joke but funny as ever. She told me to call thr #'s on my 1st night there. I was nervous but she didn't flinch an eyee lash. I grew a found respect for her. Smart mouth and smart as a whip. I don't know how were going to to pull this off without her.Everything that I know about you will be missed. R.I.P.
